The Tokyo-based punk rock band THE LET’S GO’s will soon start touring France for 10 shows, with several festival performances at Japan Tours, La Guinguette and Spore Festival. It is the first time that the band will perform outside Japan with the current band line-up, with Coco on guitar and vocals, Manami on bass and vocals, and Mariko Mariko on the drums and vocals, and the first time to tour France.

The Japanese all-girl band was formed by Coco in 2006 with 50s and 60s punk and rock’n’roll as the backbone with pop melodies and lyrics that come straight from the heart. While the band has undergone many band line-ups, Coco has been the last original band member of THE LET’S GO’s. In addition, Mariko Mariko joined the band in 2018 and Manami at the end of 2021, making the band complete again. They are known for their performances that are filled with high energy and a good example is this video with live footage of the gig at Club Goodman for SXSW Online in 2022 where they celebrated the 40th anniversary of pop punk band Shonen Knife with other bands, such as Lolita no.18, Petty Booka, ZARIGANI$, THE TOMBOYS, and of course Shonen Knife.

The newest single by THE LET’S GO’s is titled ぼくはバンドマン (Boku wa Bandoman) released in December 2023. This single follows up their 7-inch single release for Record Store Day 2023, チャック・ベリーでおやすみなさい/フロンティア (Chuck Berry de Oyasuminasai/Frontier) and a CD with DVD that features their live performance at Shinjuku Loft, the tour final of their tour promoting the album KILL BY POP which was released in September 2022. This is just a small glimpse of the band’s extensive discography.

Still from BOOKERS' music video for the song "昼夜逆転 (Day Night Reversal)". The still contains an artistic and vibrant image featuring the performing band members and an effect which seems to create an ongoing and moving triangular tunnel with an array of pink, red and blue. This effects comes back in other places of the music video. The video is directed by Yasuhiro Amano.
