Indie pop singer/songwriter Ayano Kaneko returns to the United Kingdom with her band for a couple of performances, including an appearance at The Great Escape. Her band consists of guitarist Hirotoshi Hayashi, bass player Takuya Iizuka, and drummer Hikari Sakashita.

Kaneko is inspired by Japanese music acts like punk rock band INU (active at the end of 70s, start of 80s), or especially the vocalist, author, poet and actor Machida Ko, folk rock band HAPPY END (they were active in the 70s), and rock band Spitz (still active, from the 80s). Since the release of her debut solo acoustic work in 2016, she has been releasing music in solo format or in band format, making it possible to present her music on the big stage but also in intimate venues. To date she has released four albums with band arrangements and five acoustic solo albums.

She is highly regarded for her plain yet sharply focused lyrics, which are both in diary-like and poetic form, and her dynamic singing voice that goes from whispering to a powerful voice. In Japan, she draws full concert halls, in 2021 she managed to sell out a concert at the prestigious Nippon Budokan for the first time. In 2023, she released a new album, titled タオルケットは穏やかな (A towel blanket is peaceful), as well as a vocal/guitar recording of the same opus, titled タオルケットは穏やかな ひとりでに (A towel blanket is peaceful. alone). In the same year, she held two-day arena shows. In April, she released a double A single and just before the start of her UK tour she shared two videos to promote this single.

This is a digital painting of the avatar of Vocaloid producer and songwriter Kikuo with colourful and flowing long hair and two red horns. The painting shows Kikuo in a movement where he moves his arms, making it look that he has several arms. The avatar seems to be mysterious with a quiet but expressive look. This painting has been used for the Kikuo World Tour 2024 – 2025 “Kikuoland-Go-Round” promotion.
