On Sunday the 13th of November, MADAME EDWARDA, by many seen as a legendary goth rock band based in Japan, will celebrate the 40th-anniversary of the band with a special performance at Ikebukuro Chop, a venue that they perform often at. The one-man show, titled Hanging Gardens of Babylone 〜 Sakashima no yume 〜, will have a limited audience at the venue itself, but will also be available for live broadcasting on Twitcasting. This means that this special celebratory performance can be viewed worldwide if you buy a digital ticket.

The event will start from 17.00 Japanese time (9.00 in The Netherlands, 08.00 in the United Kingdom) with an avant-garde butoh performance by Taizo and the atmosphere is further increased by various DJs, including ZINNY AERODINAMICA, ZONO PANSY and TAIZO, with VJ AZVSA CHAINSAW for the visual arts on the screen. MADAME EDWARDA, consisting of vocalist Zin-François Angélique, guitarist Snaky-Snaky, bass player D’indy and drummer Scilly, will be the grand finale of the event in a two-parter performance.

The exact timetable can be viewed below. Please keep in mind that all times mentioned in this schedule are in Japanese Standard Time. If you are not able to watch the stream live on Twitcasting or tune in later and want to rewatch it, it is good to know that the archive will be up for viewing for 14 days after the live broadcast.

MADAME EDWARDA is known for surrealistic lyrics, mainly based on the theme of mystery and illusion. This theme is further implemented by means of a theatrical stage performance. The goth rockers has had a hiatus after just a few years of activities but got reunited in 2009. Since then, they have been very active with performances and new releases, their latest album release was WEIRD TAILS in 2017.
