More than a year after a part of the art collective performed at CAMERA JAPAN, Japone Artists can look forward to a new performance on a physical stage. The group will perform at the first edition of Heroes Made in Asia in Gorinchem. Because not all members can join the group performance, Japone Artists invited a couple of guest performers for this special performance at Heroes Made in Asia 2021 on 16 and 17 October.

The show, specially created for Heroes Made in Asia, is titled Light in Darkness and will contain the 7 internationally performing Japanese artists from the art collective: soprano and vocalist Utako Arakawa, dancer Kazuma Glen Motomura, Ayumi Matsuda on Recorder, Yusuke Morita on bass and took the task of programming the music, and Hiromi Haneda for the screen image-art. For this performance, they will welcome the addition of two guest performers, pianist Misaki Yamada on keyboard and martial art performer Aristos for the theatrical combat.

The group leader of Japone Artists, Utako Arakawa, said about Light in Darkness: “You will enjoy our extraordinary theatre combat and beautiful Japanese traditional scene with marvellous music and image-art screen! The spectacular and breathtaking show will invite you to an extraordinary world!” About the meaning of the show’s title, she added: “I will leave it to the imagination of the audience.”

The first edition of Heroes Made in Asia Gorinchem is planned to take place on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 October at Evenementenhal Gorinchem. The event offers a wide range of activities related to Asia. We will soon present a list of 10 things you should not miss at this event. Japone Artists will perform on both days at 13:45 on the Mainstage.

The art collective has been busy during the pandemic with the creation of new music, music videos and video podcasts. They also joined the events of AnimeCon @ Home in 2020 and 2021, but also the online edition of HYPER JAPAN last summer. The latest works of Japone Artists include two music projects, Toryanse and Furusato. More can be found on their YouTube channel.
