After the postponement of Japan Expo Paris from 2020 to 2021, it is now official that the festival will not take place in 2021 and the event is now postponed to the summer of 2022 by the consequences of the pandemic.
The organisation shared a message on their website with an extensive explanation why they decided to postpone the event again: “Considering the current sanitary conditions and the uncertainty of the months to come, we must admit that we cannot serenely prepare for the great come-back we have all hoped for since last year. Indeed, it has already been a year since we had to postpone Japan Expo Paris 2020 to July 2021. And today, it is with a burdened heart that we must decide to postpone again the 21st edition of Japan Expo Paris to the summer of 2022.”
They also explained that they have noticed the requests to bring Japan Expo Paris to the online world, but they will not organise an online edition, as they find that the event is the place where online communities meet in real life, meeting online is something that is done all year long, according to the organisation behind Japan Expo Paris.
The organisation also takes the time talk about the economic hardships and the request to keep the 2020 and 2021 tickets for 2022, since they will help them monetary and they will stay valid for the 2022 edition of Japan Expo.
There is also a mention of Japan Expo Sud in Marseilles, which couldn’t take place in March 2020 and this year. This event is now planned from the 18th of February to the 20th of 2022 and Japan Expo Paris will take place in July 2022, although an exact date will be confirmed at a later date.
