HYPER JAPAN Festival 2020 gets postponed
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterShare on RedditShare on Tumblr

HYPER JAPAN will go online this summer with a month full of online events from the 9th of July to the 8th of August. The announcement was done by the organisation earlier today. There will be no physical event of HYPER JAPAN in July.

An explanation about organising an online event instead of a physical event was shared as well: “We take the safety and security of our guests very seriously and so we have made the decision to move the event to a brand new online platform! We are currently preparing the best way to showcase pop culture, video games, cosplay, martial arts, as well as anime and film viewing events, food and drink cooking and tasting parties, live shows from Japanese artists, virtual travel tours, as well as our ongoing online Japanese culture workshops. In the current situation, it has unfortunately not been possible to run our usual HYPER JAPAN Festival this year, but we’re powering up for HYPER JAPAN ONLINE 2021!”

The UK-based convention normally takes place twice a year at Olympia London but had to skip 2020 due to the ongoing situation around COVID-19, but in the meantime, they have been working hard on digital workshops through Zoom and live broadcasts on their YouTube channel under the name HYPER JAPAN TV. Earlier this year, AVO Magazine got invited by HYPER JAPAN TV for an interview.
