The DIY and self-signed rock and metal act Esprit D’Air will soon celebrate their 10th-anniversary with a concert that will be broadcasted live for fans around the world, but they also decided to release a new single, titled Leviathan. This single will be accompanied by a music video. To make this happen, the band started a crowdfunding just like last year, where they asked for funds for the single Amethyst. That single got funded in 3 days.

For this new crowdfunding project, the goal is higher where the band needs £6,150 (around € 6800,-) to make this all happen. On their website, they have written down a description of how the crowdfunded money will be spent. If all goes well, the release date of the new single will be around the end of November, the start of December. The cover of the upcoming single has been shared as well and seems to depict an underwater city being attacked by the ‘Leviathan’.

A few days ago, vocalist and bandleader Kai asked his fans on social media if they were interested to support the band if Esprit D’Air would start a crowdfunding for their next single. The responses were positive as most of the fans voted yes on that question. That was the start sign for the crowdfunding.

Esprit D’Air shared a description about the upcoming single, where they explained they interpreted ‘Leviathan’ as a huge power or impact beyond human power or knowledge. The upcoming single is connected with the current ongoing situation we are in: “When we wrote this, we were thinking about how significantly our world has changed with the pandemic and how we can think positively and have hopes in tough times.”

The crowdfunding started on the 28th of September and the first fans have pledged their support through the website of Esprit D’Air. You can support the band starting from £1 to £50 (around € 55,-). Perks go from digital downloads to even receive a virtual ticket for the upcoming live show, a shoutout and your name being credited at the end of the music video. Specific information about the perks and the amount of money connected to them, can be found on the website of Esprit D’Air.

Reformed in 2016, Esprit D’Air are a self-produced and self-signed Japanese rock band based in London led by vocalist, composer and producer, Kai. Consequently, the band produces, mixes and masters their own releases, and promotes their own shows. In 2018, the band toured Europe and performed at AVO J-Music Festival in The Hague as the headliner. In the new year, the band will release their new album, titled Oceans. In the upcoming live show that will be broadcasted, they will play a couple of songs of that album.
