Musical snack: Ryota Yoshinari (ROOKiEZ is PUNK’D) collaborates with brother Yu-ta (X Made Alcoholic Santaclaus) for music video

In this strange period of time, we see more and more positive things happening on the internet. Musicians who decide to live stream to musicians who make videos while being separated from each other, because of the current situation around COVID-19. Ryota Yoshinari, better known as the bass player of ROOKiEZ is PUNK’D, shared a video of an original song, titled Makuru, where Ryota takes the lead as a guitarist and vocalist. In this video, we can see that he is not alone.

He is supported by his brother Yu-ta, who we know the best as the drummer of X Made Alcoholic Santaclaus and who is currently residing in Belgium, guitarist YOUSUKE from the band 43K&cheapsongs and Davy on an instrument that we don’t hear a lot, specifically the fagot. The video shows the four musicians apart from each other and still together thanks internet and the shared interesting in music. Some musicians are accompanied by their small pets while playing the song for the video, that took a month in making. The song, written fully by Ryota, gives the feeling of calmness with a sprinkling of cheerfulness. The conclusion of this video is that it shows an interesting musical collaboration between Japan and Belgium.

Yu-ta explained a bit about the song: “The word Makaru can be described as ‘the feeling of wrapping something up’ and can be seen as a sort of message for the current situation: Let’s wrap this situation up. It is actually almost a coined word.”

Currently both the rock groups, ROOKiEZ is PUNK’D and X Made Alcoholic Santaclaus, are on an indefinite hiatus.
