Japanese screamo band envy shared a live video for two songs Farewell to words and Testimony to the existence. The video was taken during their live show at Shimokitazawa ERA in May 2018. At that time the band had a special floor show with American post-hardcore band City of Caterpillar.

The first song in the video can be found back on the 2001 album All the Footprints You’ve Ever Left and the Fear Expecting Ahead and the second song has been put on a few releases, including a number of EPs in 2000 and an album in 2008, titled Transfovista.

The video shows the energy that the band generate on a cosy stage surrounded by a hyperactive crowd who directly goes all into the music after hearing the first notes of the songs. Seen by many as iconic or even legends, this video shows why you should see this band, who have been active since 1992, live at least once. Experiencing what it is all about and go all into the music, as this audience did in 2018. Keep an eye on them in the future, the band was in Europe last Winter and were originally planned for the now postponed Hellfest in France, it might be a possibility that we will see them soon again on the European grounds.

Check envy’s Bandcamp for music and merchandise, but also Spotify or Apple Music, to support the band. In February, envy released their first new studio album in five years, titled The Fallen Crimson. After reuniting with briefly estranged singer Tetsuya Fukagawa, the band returned revitalised with an 11-track album. At the moment it has come to a standstill when it comes to performing for envy. The band has joined the project MUSIC UNITES AGAINST COVID-19 and has provided a live soundtrack in return for those who are participating in this project. Check their official website to keep up-to-date.
