Due to the current situation of uncertainty, the organisation behind the Spanish convention Japan Weekend decided to organise an online edition of the well known Japan Weekend editions. The event will start in the first week of June, starting from 1 June. For only € 5,00, you are able to enjoy live workshops, online video games, talks, masterclasses and opportunities to meet guests without leaving your home.

Tickets for the online event are already on sale. The first special guest of this online event has been announced, namely LADYBEARD. The entertainer visited Spain before to perform at Japan Weekend. LADYBEARD is known for his musical work in LADYBABY and currently in DEADLIFT LOLITA, but also as a professional wrestler. More special guests and other contents of the programme will be announced at a later date.

Japan Weekend has several editions throughout the year in Spain. For example the edition in Madrid is seen as the biggest Japan-related convention in Madrid and the biggest cosplay convention in Spain. The convention has a focus on Japanese traditional and pop culture. The next edition of Japan Weekend, if all goes according to plan, will be on 26th and 27th September 2020 in Madrid, 17 October in Bilbao, 24 October in Granada, 21th and 22th November in Valencia and then we can look forward to the event in Barcelona next year.
