OOIOO (pronounced oh-oh-eye-oh-oh) was formed by Boredoms drummer and multi-instrumentalist Yoshimi Yokota (also known as YoshimiO) as a fake band for a magazine photoshoot in 1995. Yoshimi is a Japanese musician best known for her role as the longest consistent drummer in the Osaka rock band Boredoms. The four-piece are musicians who love to move freely between the audible and inaudible, rhythm and non-rhythm, noise and silence. After a six-year production hiatus, OOIOO returned in 2020 with their eighth studio album, Nijimusi. This album will be presented on Rewire Festival, one of the songs can be already listened to on Bandcamp.
