With this candy kit you create four sea creatures: three kinds of fishes and a squid. You also get a fishing rod with a string attached to it, that you need to place in the mould before making the candies. You don’t have to catch the sea creatures, they’re already attached to the string when you’re done, so it’s not like the Extreme Fishing Kit I reviewed before.

The packaging indicates that the candies are supposed to be grape flavoured. These candies are slightly sour and do have an artificial grape flavour to them. The texture is slightly hard but also still powdery as you chew on it. I didn’t dislike the flavour or texture, but it didn’t blow me away either.

This kit doesn’t take a lot of time at all, you put the string in place, scoop over the powder, scoop over the water and you wait for 5 minutes for them to harden before ‘fishing’ them out.

Making the candies is very easy, there are very few steps and if you keep to the instructions nothing should go wrong.

As you can see on the pictures below, the final product looks very similar to the packaging. The sea creatures look the way they seem to be intended to look and how I expected them to look. There are some darker dots of colour on the candies, but that’s probably because I used a little more water than I was supposed to.

Clean the mould with warm water, after using it, and let it air dry. Don’t use soap to clean the mould.
If you want to reuse the mould you could make gummy candies, chocolates or even shape fondant in the mould. Make sure that if you are using melted chocolate you let it cool enough before pouring it is, so the mould won’t melt.
