Gyaru Festival, a new event of Gyaru Lovers Event in collaboration with Deshima Sounds, was held the 22nd of July at the venue Dynamo. A while ago Dynamiccon was held at the same building, the organisation of Gyaru Festival, GalFes abbreviated, decided to only use the basement for their event. Looking at its visitors and the activities they held, I think they made the right choice, even though the name suggests that it’s a gyaru only festival everyone was, of course, welcome.

There was a Bring & Buy where people within the J-Fashion community could sell their clothing, next to that Ichigo Shop and iCutie had their booths. Then you also had the J-Fashion show which couldn’t be missed, a very active parapara workshop, the Gaijin Gyaru Awards, and lastly, Deshima Sounds to make the fun last till 11 o’clock!

Overall it was a fun and cosy event. The activities fit perfectly with the visitors the only thing is that you could clearly see that there were almost only gyarus. If the organisation will be back next year and would love to obtain a bigger variety of visitors, it’d be best to promote more through facebook as they barely had any promotion and started pretty late.
