During the pandemic, the band launched a Bandcamp page, through which they released more than 60 albums, including a wealth of previously unreleased material. They’ve hosted several 24-hour listening sessions for their fans, featuring their digital compilations AMT24 and AMT24 vol.2. These releases offer a mix of older material and a few new tracks.

Over the years, the group has collaborated with a wide range of musicians, including psychedelic pioneers like Gong and Guru Guru, Simeon (Silver Apples), Nik Turner (Hawkwind), as well as notable Japanese artists such as Afrirampo, Tatsuya Yoshida (Ruins), Maso Yamazaki (Masonna), Seiichi Yamamoto (Boredoms), Jun Kuriyama (The Ox), and many more.

Besides Acid Mothers Temple & The Melting Paraiso U.F.O., other variations exist within the larger Acid Mothers Temple universe with contributions from different combinations of band members. This led to different band names for those specific projects branded ‘AMT’, think Acid Mothers Temple & The Cosmic Inferno, Acid Mothers Temple SWR, Acid Mothers Temple & The Space Paranoid, to name a few. Yet Acid Mothers Temple & The Melting Paraiso U.F.O. can be seen as the main project, the core of their music. Each of these projects explores different aspects of psychedelic and experimental rock, but all are linked by the distinctive, surrealist style popularised by Acid Mothers Temple and the group’s founder, ‘speed guru’ Makoto Kawabata.

Acid Mothers Temple & The Melting Paraiso U.F.O.
