Shooting Daggers<\/h3>\n
A great band that has risen from the new wave of punk in London this three-piece queercore band has a hardcore sound while spreading a strong political message with their vocals championing representation in these troubling times, fast pace and incredible vocals they engaged the crowd and put their message out there for all to see, a great moment was when they asked for there final song to have those of who are struggling to find a voice or not heard to come to the front.<\/p>\n

TsuShiMaMiRe<\/h3>\n
The art punk rock trio were a late addition to the event and they did not disappoint, with the exception of the fans of the band there was trepidation from the punks in the crowd, but after a few sound issues and the start of the first song, they were hooked and with the backing of the overseas fans who attended TsuShiMiMaRe were away and flying, it was incredible to see other bands watching them as well from the sidelines as well.<\/p>\n
They went fast and loud from the get-go and their crowd interactions were short and sweet but a highlight was the explaination of the song SHOW YOU MY SOY SAUCE<\/a><\/em>, giving a few breakdowns of their songs and really getting into the crowd Yayoi base bend was amazing to see, and I don\u2019t think the photo I got did it justice, even Mari was practically enveloped by the crowd as she played in there faces with their raw sound, it is safe to say that these women gained some new fans.<\/p>\n Ukrainian punk band that is the embodiment of the riot grrrl spirit much like Shooting Daggers, rounded off the night with a great set, from the hanging of the Ukrainian flag to the first song these girls were there to make a stand and they did with feisty attitudes and fast punk sounds, they were the definition of loud women.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Photography: Wonderlens<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" On a Wednesday summer evening in 2023, at the Lexington in London, the event was hosted by Loud Women, a DIY collective that champions women\u2019s music through live events.
