Another Japanese KitKat review to catch up to the many flavours that were released in the last few years. This time there are seven flavours to review: Save the Blue Ocean, Melon, Pistachio, Strawberry Milk, Summer Ice Cream, Banana Caramel and Matcha Latte.<\/p>\n
Unfortunately it took quite a while for these to arrive and some of the flavours seem to melt quicker than others. Even though they might\u2019ve lost their shape a little, they still tasted the same.<\/p>\n
Nestl\u00e9 – KitKat Mini Save the Blue Ocean As their name suggests, Nestl\u00e9 Japan donates money (10 yen) to protect the oceans with each purchased bag.<\/p>\n The flavour also goes well with the ocean theme, but don’t worry: they are not as salty as the ocean itself. The creamy white chocolate isn’t overly sweet, but balances out the salt flavour quite well. Surprisingly this was a pretty good combination and didn’t leave much of a salt aftertaste.<\/p>\n Nestl\u00e9 – KitKat Mini Melon Melon is definitely a present flavour in this KitKat, but not too strong either. The chocolate is creamy and not overly sweet. Although I\u2019m not a huge fan of melon, I did enjoy this one.<\/p>\n Nestl\u00e9 – KitKat Mini Pistachio This flavour was pretty bitter, although it is still milk chocolate. The crunchy wavers had a green colour to them. I enjoyed these, but I can’t say Pistachio was a very present flavour in these either. There was a hint of pistachio, but mostly a bitter chocolate flavour.<\/p>\n Nestl\u00e9 – KitKat Mini Strawberry milk Creamy chocolate with an artificial strawberry flavour to it. This one was sweeter than the other so far and sweeter than most of the other strawberry KitKats I’ve tried, probably because there was no sour note to it. It wasn’t super sweet, but I personally prefer a little bit of a sour flavour when it comes to strawberry KitKats.<\/p>\n Nestl\u00e9 – KitKat Mini Summer Ice Cream This one has more crunchy wafer pieces than any other flavour so far, because there are bits of crushed crispy cr\u00eapes in the chocolate layer for some extra crunch. It has a sweet vanilla flavour to it and did resemble the flavour of vanilla ice cream.<\/p>\n Nestl\u00e9 – KitKat Mini Banana Caramel Despite the milk chocolate, the first flavours I noticed were banana and caramel. The chocolate is a bit bitter, but you don’t notice that until after you’ve tasted the other flavours. I’m still not a big fan of matcha, but I thought this KitKat was pretty okay. The chocolate is a bit bitter, but you don’t notice that until after you’ve tasted the other flavours.
