In case you missed the news, Church of Misery are currently touring Europe (check here<\/a> soon to see if you can still see them live somewhere). When they announced their first European tour in almost four years, there was already a hint to a possibility of a summer tour. The doom metal band has since announced this tour schedule for the month of August, during which the Japanese band will bring the new album Born Under A Mad Sign<\/em> with them. Most of these shows will be with American sludge metal band EYEHATEGOD, with whom the band has toured Europe before, namely in 2011.<\/p>\n

Church of Misery\u2019s activities started in 1995 and the metal band has released 5 full-length albums. The band has gone through a lot of line-up changes, leaving bassist Tatsu Mikami as the only original member who has been active in the band from the start. He also writes the music for Church of Misery. Besides Church of Misery, Mikami is also active in the psychedelic rock band Sonic Flower, which can be seen as an offshoot of Church of Misery.<\/p>\n

In March, the band announced that the new album was finished after taking seven months to complete. Bass guitarist, band leader and sole constant band member Tatsu Mikami collaborated for the album with vocalist Kazuhiro Asaeda (Church of Misery’s original vocalist, but also active in Sonic Flower), guitarist Yukito Okazaki (Eternal Elysium) and drummer Toshiaki Umemura (Sonic Flower, ex-AUMA).<\/p>\n
