Sapphire Slows, a Tokyo-based DJ and producer who last toured Europe three years ago, has revealed that she will do so again this autumn. The tour kicks off in the Netherlands on 10 September and will include shows where the musician will make use of her Buchla synthesiser, a DJ set and also dates where she will be an Artist In Residence.<\/p>\n
About Sapphire Slows is said that you can refer to her as an ‘everything-ist’\u2014in addition to producing music and being a DJ, she is also a musician – playing the synth and piano, and a vocalist, adding spooky, drone-like vocals to the soundscapes she creates. She was inspired to pursue a career in music after the 2011 earthquake in Japan and is now well-known in Tokyo’s electronic underground music scene.<\/p>\n
She has performed on tours in North America, Europe, China, and her home country. She has also recorded music on labels including Big Love in Japan and Not Not Fun\/100% Silk in Los Angeles. Recently she joined the first compilation release on vinyl by the music label S\u00e9ptimo Sello (7S, Seventh Seal).<\/p>\n
