{"id":43166,"date":"2020-04-13T12:00:16","date_gmt":"2020-04-13T10:00:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/avo-magazine.nl\/?p=43166"},"modified":"2020-04-13T12:03:06","modified_gmt":"2020-04-13T10:03:06","slug":"urbangarde-celebrate-autobiography-announcement-with-rare-videos-on-youtube","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/avo-magazine.com\/en\/2020\/04\/urbangarde-celebrate-autobiography-announcement-with-rare-videos-on-youtube\/","title":{"rendered":"URBANGARDE celebrate autobiography announcement with rare videos on YouTube"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Japanese rock band URBANGARDE will release their first-ever authorised biography on 27 April. <em>Polkadot Autobiography \u2013 URBANGARDE Chronicle<\/em> will cover the early years of the band&#8217;s formation by bandleader\/vocalist Temma Matsunaga and vocalist Yoko Hamasaki.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>To celebrate the book\u2019s release, URBANGARDE has uploaded several rare videos to their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/urbangarde\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">YouTube channel<\/a>, including some early promotional short films, live performance clips, and dance videos.<\/p>\n<p>In the book, the musicians will reveal stories behind the band&#8217;s most outrageous and controversial music videos, behind-the-scenes conflicts, and private photos from URBANGARDE&#8217;s 12-year career. The book will also feature a new biography of URBANGARDE keyboardist Kei Ohkubo and extensive notes about URBANGARDE&#8217;s connection to Japanese subculture and national issues, including earthquakes, nuclear power, mental health, lolita culture, and pop idols. URBANGARDE has performed concerts overseas in France, Taiwan, and the United States, and produced the annual subculture music festival Utsu Fes since 2014. They released their first Best album <em>Koi to Kakumei to URBANGARDE<\/em> in 2013. URBANGARDE started the new year with a new album, titled <em>TOKYOPOP<\/em>.
