BASKET BOX<\/em> marks the third music video from the third generation of BiS, and holds a familiar, late 90s to early 2000’s sound reminiscent of Green Day – this should not come as a surprise, as this entire music video is almost one BIG parody to the old pop-punk era, with the title strikingly similar to Green Day’s 1994 track Basket Case<\/em> and their upcoming album titled LOOKiE<\/em> – well, it’s quite obvious.<\/p>\n

The video starts with an examination room, surrounded by various characters – two nurses, a lady in a wheelchair holding a dummy, a ballerina, a masked man and a lady styled as though to convey Marilyn Monroe – and Neo Trees in the centre, joined shortly by Chantmonkee, then Toggy and finally Musensiteebu.<\/p>\n

The music video features many close-up and individual shots of the characters and members, often interspersed with group frames and always returns to a full-room view featured in the introduction. The video’s theme seems not to take itself too seriously, an interesting concept that offers strong visuals which blend well with the sound. The scenes where the members are individually trying to ‘escape’ the grasp of the nurses could be symbolic or wanting to ‘break free’ or it could simply be a fun way to express BiS’ attitude of rebellion that is common within WACK<\/em>‘s idol ethos.<\/p>\n

Towards the end of the music video, we’re treated to a short dance performance, as they continue to sing about the PA system. I do enjoy the fact that the lady in the wheelchair uses the dummy to mime throughout the entire song – a detail I didn’t pick up until the third viewing.<\/p>\n

The video uses many images of medical equipment, which was also used as a theme in their previous video DEAD or A LiME<\/em><\/a>, but overall has a much more enjoyable premise – a lighthearted, fun-loving and enjoyable music video that is easy to watch and has a contagious sound that the third generation of BiS is becoming known for.<\/p>\n
